How it works

Four steps to AI-assisted design

Download the EnginAIer desktop app from this site, then add CAD plugins inside the app — not here on the website. Restart your CAD software and chat from EnginAIer. This site handles your account, billing, and downloads only.

1

Download & sign in

Install the EnginAIer desktop app and create an account. Auth, credit, and billing run through the website — no local database or command-line setup.

2

Add plugins in the app

In the EnginAIer desktop app, open Download plugins, scan your PC, and click Install for each product. Plugins register in your CAD startup folders automatically.

3

Restart & connect

Close and reopen the CAD application. There is nothing to load by hand — no NETLOAD, no add-in manager. A green dot on the software pill means EnginAIer is live.

4

Chat in plain language

Pick the connected pill, describe what you need, and send. The agent plans the work and runs the right tools directly in your drawing or model.

How plugins work in the app ↓
In the desktop app

Add plugins from the app — not from this website

Plugin install buttons live only in the EnginAIer desktop app. This section is a walkthrough of what to do after you download the app.

This website does not install CAD plugins. Download EnginAIer here, sign in, then open Download plugins in the app sidebar to scan your PC and click Install on each product card.

1

Open Download plugins in the app

In the EnginAIer desktop app sidebar, click Download plugins (or the gear icon → Download plugins).

2

Scan your PC

Open the Detect software tab and click Scan. EnginAIer finds the CAD products already installed.

3

Install per product

On the Download tab, click Install on the card for each product you use. Install only what you need.

4

Confirm on Status

Open the Status tab to see installed plugins, or Uninstall and reinstall if something needs a reset.

No manual NETLOAD, add-in manager, or copying DLLs. Each plugin registers itself in the folder your CAD software already reads on startup — a plugin bundle folder for Civil 3D/AutoCAD, an add-ins folder for Revit, a plugins folder for Navisworks, packages/Libraries for Rhino and Grasshopper, a packages folder for Dynamo, and an extensions folder for Tekla Structures. If a product can't be registered automatically, its plugin card tells you exactly what to do instead.

Plugins are stored under %LOCALAPPDATA%\EnginAIer\plugins on your machine. Full walkthrough (with screenshots and troubleshooting): read the User Guide →

Using the app

Chat, connect ACC, and keep results in sync

Once a product shows a green dot, you're talking directly to that CAD session.

1

Select target software

Click the pill for the app you want, e.g. Civil 3D. It must show a green connected dot.

2

Ask in plain language

e.g. "List alignments in this drawing" or "Read the road layout for Alignment 29."

3

Send

Press Enter or click send. The assistant plans the work and calls the right tools.

4

Review the result

The assistant runs tools in your CAD software and replies with what changed — check it before you rely on it.

🔗 Connect Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)

Browse ACC hubs and projects, and hand the assistant a PDF or model straight from your project files.

1

Click Connect

In the sidebar, under Autodesk ACC, click Connect.

2

Sign in with Autodesk

A browser window opens — sign in with your Autodesk account. This is separate from your EnginAIer login.

3

Browse hubs & projects

Back in the app, the ACC file browser opens in the sidebar. Pick a hub, project, and folder to find your files.

4

Attach & chat

Select a PDF or model and attach it to your message — the assistant reads it directly for sheet reviews, specs, and coordination context.

Not connecting? Click the ACC button again to reconnect — the status dot turns green and shows your Autodesk username once it's live.

🔁 Structural sync (Rhino ↔ Tekla)

When Rhino, Grasshopper, or Tekla is connected, a sync bar appears below the software pills with per-app connection dots and one-click actions — frame Rhino views on the building, build a parametric Grasshopper canvas from a Tekla pull, or push/pull geometry between the two, no typed commands required.

👎 Report an answer that isn't giving you what you need. Every assistant reply carries a report control. Reporting sends that conversation to our team so we can investigate and fix it — and it's the only time a conversation is retained on our servers. Ordinary chats are relayed to generate a reply and never stored; a reported one is kept only until we've reviewed it, then its content is deleted. See the Privacy Policy for the full picture.

What these labels mean. Available — All three criteria of the verification bar were met on a real install of this exact product and year, and the evidence is recorded below. Coming soon — Not installable yet.

Navisworks work targets the Manage edition; Navisworks Simulate is out of scope and Navisworks Freedom has no plugin API, so it can never be supported. Releases 2023 and earlier of the Autodesk products above are out of scope. Dynamo runs inside Revit or Civil 3D, or as Dynamo Sandbox. The desktop app labels every install card with the same status shown here.

Privacy

Do we keep your data?

No — not your drawings, models, or ordinary chat. EnginAIer is built local-first: CAD tool calls run on your machine through the plugin. The cloud only relays chat text to generate a reply, then discards it.

Stays on your machine

  • Drawings, models, and every CAD/BIM tool call
  • Plugin communication over local Windows named pipes
  • Chat history in the desktop app (on your PC)
  • Installed plugins under %LOCALAPPDATA%\EnginAIer\plugins

Passes through our cloud — not stored

  • Your message, the assistant reply, and tool text needed to continue the turn
  • Account sign-in, billing, and usage metering
  • Relayed to the AI provider to generate a reply, then discarded

One exception — when you report an answer. If you use the report control on a reply, that prompt, the reply, and the turns leading up to it are sent to our team so we can investigate. We delete the conversation content after review and keep only the rating, your comment, and basic metadata. Answers you do not report are never retained on our servers.

Plans are priced in USD credit. Usage is metered in real Anthropic input/output tokens (model and message length affect how fast credit is used). Estimates assume Sonnet 4.6 and a typical agent chat mix.

FAQ

Troubleshooting & common questions

The same answers your EnginAIer administrator would give you — most connection issues come down to one of these.

The CAD badge stays grey — it never connects

Confirm the CAD application is open with a drawing or model loaded, and that you restarted it after installing the plugin — a session that was already running never picks up a plugin installed mid-session. Then click the refresh icon next to the software badges.

Chat says "Service unavailable" or doesn't reply

Check your internet connection, then close and reopen EnginAIer. If it persists, the cloud service may be under maintenance — contact your administrator.

The assistant can't see my drawing

This is almost always the same root cause as a grey badge: the plugin was installed while the software was already running. Close the CAD application, reopen it, then refresh the badges.

How do I reinstall a plugin?

In the EnginAIer desktop app, open Download plugins → Download, click Uninstall on the plugin card, then Install again. Restart your CAD application afterwards.

ACC won't connect, or sign-in doesn't finish

Click the ACC button again in the sidebar — it reopens the Autodesk sign-in page in your browser. Make sure you complete sign-in in that browser window rather than closing it, then return to EnginAIer; the status dot turns green once the connection completes. ACC sign-in is separate from your EnginAIer account, so use your Autodesk credentials there.

Do you store my drawings or models?

No. Your drawings, models, and CAD data never leave your machine — every tool call executes locally through the CAD software's own APIs. Only the text of each chat turn (your message, the assistant's reply, and tool results it needs to continue) reaches our cloud service, and it is relayed to the AI provider and discarded, not stored. See the Privacy Policy for the full breakdown of what stays local and what doesn't.

What happens when I report an answer?

That specific prompt and reply — plus the turns leading up to it — are sent to our team to investigate. This is the one exception to "we don't store your conversations": once we've reviewed the report, the conversation content is deleted and only the rating, your comment, and basic metadata are kept. Answers you don't report are never retained.

What does EnginAIer need on my machine?

Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), an internet connection, and at least one CAD product the plugin supports — nothing else. No database, no Node.js, no command line; everything is bundled in the installer.
